The job

This year, the Bike Fitting Research Center will be opened in Sittard. For this location, we are recruiting a biomechanics specialist. Your tasks will include:

  • Setting up research projects to verify and optimize the existing measurement methods and movement analysis;
  • Setting up, implementing and evaluating of training and educational paths for bicycle measurement on various levels: from start-ups to support staff of international pro-teams. Educating fellow trainers within the international distribution network of Shimano/;
  • In collaboration with various product developer teams within the Shimano group develop ergonomic and biomechanical-based commercial products/systems to promote cycling efficiency, safety and comfort;
  • Develop and manage a top research and measuring center for biomechanical movement analysis for cyclists.


  • At least a master's degree in biomechanics and/or human movement sciences;
  • To be able to think independently and work on academic level;
  • Analytically strong and structured;
  • Good communication skills in at least the Dutch and English language, as well spoken as in writing. Any other languages would be considered as a plus;
  • Proactive team player and focus on results;
  • Preferably experience with digital analysis such as motion tracking, pressure sensors and force measurement analysis;
  • Affinity with sports in general, preferably cycling, is a plus;
  • Willing to work in an international environment with colleagues worldwide;
  • Willing to travel extensively. is based in Sittard, the Netherlands, so candidate is required to reside within a reasonable distance from there and reports to the Business Manager of
