Shimano Europe Holding BV, Shimano's European headquarters located in Nunspeet (the Netherlands), currently provides support to 15 sales offices throughout Europe. At present, the Shimano Europe Group has more than 500 employees all across Europe. At the European headquarters the Corporate Services department (4 employees) offers support to the local and foreign sales offices at all relevant Legal- and Compliance fields. For this department we want to get in touch with candidates for the position of:

COMPLIANCE OFFICER

The job

The Compliance Officer oversees the Compliance programs related to J-SOX and ISO-9001, functioning as an independent and objective person who prepares, reviews and evaluates compliance issues/concerns within the Shimano organization. The compliance officer:

  • Initiates, prepares, supports internal as well as external audits, and reviews policies and procedures for the operation of the Compliance Programs and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
  • Acts as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance Issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
  • Monitors, and as necessary, coordinates compliance activities of other departments to remain abreast of the status of all compliance activities and to identify trends.
  • Identifies potential areas of non-compliance and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Provides reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep Management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts.
  • Cooperates with other departments as appropriate to develop an effective compliance program, including appropriate training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.
  • Monitors the performance of the Compliance Programs and related activities on a continuing basis, taking action accordingly to improve its effectiveness.

 

 Requirements

  • A bachelor degree in Business Administration or Finance.
  • A few years of working experience in a similar field, preferable gained within an international environment.
  • Knowledge of SOX controls( Manual controls & IT controls), ISO 9001 and audit experience
  • Capable to acquire quickly a good insight in business processes, procedures and policies.
  • Strong communication skills and persuasive capacities.
  • Good analytical skills, in combination with a hands-on mentality and critical attitude.
  • Capable of working independently, structured and in an accurate way.
  • Excellent language skills in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.
