Angling Times
Angling Times tackle supremo Dave Woodmansey has fished with every margin pole on the market and he reckons the Shimano Beastmaster is right up there with the best of them.

"Looking back through my review book I think I've fished with just about every 'top-end' margin pole out there and I have no hesitation in saying the Beastmaster is one of the best. This pole, and perhaps a couple of others, are streets ahead of anything else on offer and I reckon you' be delighted to own any of them.

At a genuine 8.5 metres long, the Beastmaster is what I consider to be an ideal length. If you want to fish at 4m, 5m or 6m you can, but if you need an extra bit of length to get the float right into a feature, you've got the extra sections. You can't do that with a 6m pole.

At full length my Beastmaster weighs a little over 600g and feels brilliant so, with a light elastic, it would make a good short-range pole for newcomers to commercial pool angling. The pole has an excellent finishon it and, not as important as it is for long pole work, it runs nicely through the hands.

Verdict:
An excellent margin pole with bags of power and ability and a great feel about it. A real pleasure to use."
