100th Tour de France begins, great result for Shimano & Orica-GreenEDGE
The 2013 Tour de France, the 100th edition, began on Saturday 29 June on the island of Corsica.

The opening stage saw the riders depart from Poto-Vecchio towards Bastia, and German rider, Marcel Kittel (Argos-Shimano) was the first across the line and the first to don the yellow leader's jersey.
Stage 2 covered Bastia to Ajaccio, with Jan Bakelants (RadioShack-Leopard) of Belgium taking top honours.

However Monday's stage 3, Ajaccio to Calvi did include a lot of hills and in a frenzied sprint to the finish line, Australian Simon Gerrans (Orica-GreenEDGE) edged out Peter Sagan in a photo-finish that saw him win the stage. This is fantastic news and a great achievement for the relatively new team!

Best of luck to them all for the remainder of the Tour!
