Shimano Teams Rolling at Tour Down Under

Shimano-sponsored road teams have started off the 2010 racing season off with a bang at the Tour Down Under.

Sunday afternoon's Cancer Council Helpline Classic saw a strong 1-2 finish from the new Team Sky with Chris Sutton (AUS) leading out Greg Henderson (NZ) to win an awesome sprint finish (with the entire Team Sky running Shimano's Dura-Ace Di2 electronic shifting system). Stage 1 of the was won by 2008 Tour Down Under champion Andre Greipel (GER) racing for HTC-Columbia, taking line honours along with the Ochre Leader's Jersey after the 141km race from Clare to Tununda.

Stage 2 saw another victory by HTC-Columbia strongman Andre Greipel. The 133km Stage 2 was launched from the historic town of Gawler with Prime Minister Kevin Rudd on hand to fire the starter's gun to begin a hot day of action.

Stage 4 saw another strong effort by Adre Greipel to secure his 3rd stage victory after 149.5km from Norwood to Goolwa.

After an all-time classic day 5 at Willunga won by Olympic champion Luis-Leon Sannchez, the stage was set for thrilling sprint finish to an awesome 2010 Tour Down Under... Aussie Chris Sutton of Team Sky powered to a huge win taking the 6th stage finale in Adelaide.

Congratulations to Andre Greipel. A dominating effort throughout the week saw the HTC-Columbia rider win his 2nd Tour Down Under.
