Charles Jardine joins G.Loomis

Evesham (UK), 15th February 2011

Charles Jardine has succumbed to the charm of the skeleton fish and joins the G.Loomis’ team of pro-guides in the UK.

In the fifty-odd years of fly fishing, Charles has amassed a wealth of experience from all parts of the globe, and along the way he has been honoured by The Federation of Fly fishers with the International Ambassadors award, as a Living Legend, and also as an Accredited FFF Master in fly casting; he also holds APGAI and First 4 Sport Level 2 coach award. Charles has also been afforded the privilege of receiving SKY TV’s Game Angler of Year trophy, won two golds with English Commonwealth team and secured a silver medal at the ESPN Outdoor Games in the USA.

Charles contributes to magazines nationally and internationally, and has been associated with over fifteen books on the subject – either authored, contributed or through his other passion, illustration. His paintings can be found in collections throughout the world and embody his passion for the sport, and Charles earned the coveted Society of Wildlife Artists accolade.

Most recently, together with the Countryside Alliance Foundation, Charles has taken angling into mainstream schools and has been able to use “this wonderful sport of ours” to help students, especially those with profound learning disabilities, to improve their educational skills. Charles adds: “it has been a revelation what angling can do”.

On his involvement with G. Loomis, Charles comments: “This really is a wonderful opportunity to be associated with a company that is revered the world over for the quality, casting excellence and sheer fishability of their fly rods. And also, it’s a chance to be with like-minded friends, who are keen to push the barriers of design and performance. I am just thrilled to be part of a team of anglers I admire so much.”
