Series for Trout Fishing with an Extensive Lineup
CARDIFF was released in 1995 as a rod for trout lure fishing, which is enjoyed in natural settings: mountain streams, lakes, and marshes. Shimano deploys an extensive lineup based on the concept of meeting the needs at fishing sites, which are inhabited by different trout species and which have various characteristics. In 2008, Shimano also marketed spinning reels in this series. They featured functions suitable for delicate trout fishing, a handle knob made from a high-quality cork material that matched the rod, and a stylish design using base colors of gold and green. In 2009, Shimano released a baitcasting reel equipped with a DC (digital control) brake for area fishing, which was developed for casting of ultra-lightweight lures. In 2012, Shimano released a spinning reel made from CI4+, a new carbon material. Shimano has been pursuing functionality suitable for trout fishing for both rods and reels.
