ALFINE was a name coined from “Always Fine.” As the name suggests, its 11-speed internal geared hub equipped with helical gears, which allow smooth power transmission, offer both excellent operability and low maintenance for city bikes and a wide gear range for sports bikes. In 2012, DI2 electric shifting was added to the lineup, offering instant and accurate electric shifting. As the flagship components series in internal geared hub configuration, SHIMANO ALFINE, with chain guard, hydraulic disc brakes and drop handlebar as well as flat handlebar options, continues to promote the enjoyment of cycling.
