The Vanquish spinning reel was marketed in 2012 based on the concept of “a direct feeling derived from low inertia.” Efforts were made to minimize weight. Vanquish is also characterized by a light and sharp startup at the beginning of reeling and quick rotation response. The first model was equipped with a Magnumlite Rotor made from CI4+, an ultralightweight resin material. The material for the body was carefully selected to significantly reduce the weight and size while ensuring rigidity. The new concept of spinning reels was clearly presented. Vanquish will continue to evolve as the cutting-edge model of Shimano’s lightweight reels.
