Shimano is implementing an initiative to collect and recycle used uniforms. The fibers used in uniforms can become reusable resources through proper collection, thereby contributing to reducing environmental impact.
Collected uniforms are processed at recycling facilities through fiber-opening and re-spinning, then converted into recycled fiber (cotton-like material) and manufactured into products such as automotive interior materials. These materials are then supplied to automobile manufacturers and utilized as new products.
In April 2025, we collected work uniforms, and in June, women’s office uniforms, totaling approximately 600 kg of material recycled. We will continue to conduct regular collections and promote resource circulation through ongoing uniform recycling.
